Kizomba is originally from Angola, but Urban Kiz is mainly from France.

Between 2012 and 2014, French DJs mixed the Kizomba beats with other rhythms (tango, bachata, zouk, hip-hop, just to name a few).

This not only made new possibilities such as twists and footslides possible, but also created a new modern dance. Urban stands for RnB related music (Ghetto Zouk)

The main difference between Kizomba and Urban Kiz is that there is generally more distance between partners.
Both have a very upright posture and high body tension. Fast leg movements and breaks are typical.

Urban Kiz is danced more on the basis of electronic music.
